Terms of Use

Last updated: May 8, 2026 · Effective: May 8, 2026

These terms govern your use of SayHaii, operated by Samantha Lee, a Massachusetts-based individual (“we,” “us,” or “SayHaii”). By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

Version 0.1: pending legal review.SayHaii is a single-operator early-stage project; we will engage legal counsel for a formal review before public launch. Substantive changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and announced in-app where applicable.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SayHaii. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consents to these terms.

Account types

SayHaii has two account types:

  • Explorer: Browse, save, and attend events. Sign up with phone number and name. Explorers' identities are private and never shared with hosts.
  • Host: Create and promote events. Sign up with email and password, or Google login. Host profiles are publicly visible. Hosts must complete their profile and receive admin approval before publishing events.

You may have both an explorer and host account tied to the same identity. Each type has its own rules and responsibilities.

What SayHaii is (and isn't)

SayHaii is a discovery platform for non-recurring, in-person events in Boston. We connect explorers with hosts.

We are not:

  • An event organizer, promoter, or ticketing service
  • Responsible for the quality, safety, or accuracy of any event
  • A party to any transaction between hosts and attendees

Events listed on SayHaii are created and managed entirely by hosts. Attendance is at your own risk.

Content rules

Events must be:

  • Non-recurring. If it could happen again next week in the same form, it doesn't belong here.
  • In-person. No virtual or hybrid events.
  • In Boston. For V1, all events must be in the Boston metro area.
  • Accurately described. Dates, location, pricing, and details must be truthful.

Prohibited content:

  • Events promoting illegal activity
  • Misleading or fraudulent event information
  • Spam, duplicate, or placeholder events
  • Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory content
  • Impersonation of other hosts or organizations
  • Adult content without appropriate disclosure

AI extraction (opt-in)

SayHaii offers an optional AI extraction feature in the host event-creation flow:

  • Hosts can choose to paste a description (e.g., a caption from a social-media post or a flyer)
  • The text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract structured event details (date, location, category, etc.) and pre-fill the form
  • The feature only runs when a host actively triggers it; it never runs automatically
  • Hosts must review every AI-pre-filled field for accuracy before publishing; SayHaii does not guarantee the accuracy of extracted details

See the Privacy Policy for what is and isn't sent to Anthropic.

Host responsibilities

As a host, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete event information
  • Update or cancel events promptly if details change
  • Maintain a truthful host profile
  • Respond appropriately to community feedback
  • Comply with all applicable laws for your events (permits, capacity limits, safety, etc.)

Enforcement:

  • Events receiving 3 or more community flags are automatically hidden for admin review
  • Hosts with rejected or suspended profiles cannot publish events
  • We reserve the right to remove any content or account that violates these terms

Explorer responsibilities

As an explorer, you agree to:

  • Use the flag system honestly. Do not flag events to harass hosts.
  • Not scrape, harvest, or attempt to extract bulk data from the platform
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer privacy protections to identify other explorers
  • Not create multiple accounts to circumvent enforcement actions

Intellectual property

  • SayHaii owns: The platform, design, code, brand, and all original content we create.
  • Hosts own: Their event descriptions, images, and profile content. By posting on SayHaii, hosts grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote their content on the platform and in marketing materials. This license ends when the content is deleted.
  • Explorers own: Nothing they didn't create. Saved events, follows, and preferences are functional data, not user-generated content.

Payments

As of May 8, 2026, SayHaii does not process payments. When payment features launch:

  • Host subscriptions and featured event placement will be processed through Stripe
  • SayHaii does not handle tickets or payments between hosts and attendees; external links only
  • Refund and cancellation policies will be detailed at launch
  • You agree to Stripe's terms of service for payment processing

Account termination

By you: You can delete your account at any time through the profile menu (3-dot, then “Delete explorer account” or “Delete host account”) or by emailing samatchalee.info@gmail.com. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these terms
  • Are used for fraud, spam, or abuse
  • Remain inactive for an extended period (with notice)
  • Are flagged by the community and confirmed by admin review

We'll provide notice before termination when possible, except in cases of fraud or severe violations.

Disclaimers

SayHaii is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee:

  • That any event will occur as described
  • The safety, legality, or quality of any event
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • The accuracy of AI-extracted event details (always review before publishing)

Hosts are solely responsible for their events. SayHaii is not liable for any harm, loss, or dispute arising from event attendance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Samantha Lee's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of SayHaii is limited to the greater of:

  • The amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or
  • $100

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Samantha Lee from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of SayHaii
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Events you host or attend through the platform
  • Content you post on the platform

Dispute resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of SayHaii will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Massachusetts. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action.

Small claims court actions are exempt from this arbitration requirement.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via the contact information on your account. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
